Masterchef Recap: There’ll Be Hell To Underpay
Previously on Masterchef: Thursday’s episode mysteriously disappeared in an occurrence completely unrelated to anything in the news that day.
Tonight on Masterchef: Five becomes four as one amateur suffers the ultimate punishment: a job at Hellenic Republic.
Nicole declares that she will need to “fight with everything I’ve got”, a statement that raises hopes she will be hurling knives at/setting fire to her opponents. We are bound to be disappointed.
Tessa and Tim have an advantage in today’s challenge because they finished higher last episode. The biggest advantage they could have would be earmuffs so they can’t hear Larissa from the balcony, but unfortunately it’s nothing so beneficial as that.
The challenge will begin with two one-on-one “culinary duels”. The winners of these will join Larissa on the balcony, hopefully with a rag soaked in chloroform. The losers will then cook off against each other for the last spot.
There are three pantries on offer: an Asian pantry, a sweet pantry and a farmhouse pantry; three things that don’t directly compare to each other and make the choice very odd. Tessa and Tim’s advantage is getting to choose which pantry they cook from. Tessa chooses Asian because of her love of cultural appropriation, while Tim chooses farmhouse because of his love of inbreeding.
