Masterchef Recap: Guided By Voices
Previously on Masterchef: Finals Week began with the six top amateurs making the judges seriously reconsider their choices up till now.
Tonight on Masterchef: three losers enter, one loser leaves.
Tim is packing his bags in preparation for the possibility of going home. If he loses today he will have to return to his wife, and he cannot imagine anything more awful. Anushka is thinking of her family at home, and how she used to cook for them, and how she hopes never to have to cook for them again. Nicole does not get a flashback clip, so we have to assume she’s not thinking about her family at all. But she does say she’s proud of the person she’s become: the person she’s become being, of course, Tessa.
Unfortunately George can’t be with us today, and this is starting to get suspicious. What the hell is George up to?
Matt tells the losers that today’s challenge is meant to test whether they’ve got what it takes to go all the way. If that were true, then winning today’s challenge should mean that they win the entire competition, but they won’t, so that’s not the case at all and Matt is a liar.
The dish for today has been created by Ashley Palmer-Watts, the smug-looking man who appears on Masterchef when Heston can’t be bothered. It is a lamington cake. But don’t let the name fool you: it’s actually not a lamington cake at all, but something much more pretentious and overpriced. It’s brown with red and white blobs on it, and inside is an oozing red…
